I Hate to Post over Jimmy...

Current read: Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon

He's so delicious...

But I have some news. First, the lovely Diana Carlile, my editor at The Wild Rose Press Scarlet Line, offered me a contract for my fourth Destination Pleasure short, Montego Lay. As you've probably already guessed, this one takes place in Jamaica ;). This is my seventh contract altogether.

For the last few days, both Passion in Paris and Seduced in Seoul have been on the bestseller list over at The Wilder Roses. PIP has been hovering at number two for over a week, so if you've been meaning to check it out but haven't yet, I'd love to nudge it up to the number one spot. Again, thanks to everyone who has supported my writing. The books wouldn't have done so well without each one of you!

Ivy over at Manic Readers gave Passion in Paris a wonderful review! She says:

Passion In Paris is a delightfully sexy read... I laughed and smiled though the whole thing. Ms. Hardt packs a lot of story into thirty-four pages. Just the kind of read I needed after such a blah day. If you need a quick mood improvement, give Passion In Paris a go. It worked for me.

Thank you, Ivy!

Tomorrow I'm off to Romancing the Rockies, the Colorado Romance Writers' biennial conference. We're excited to have Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love visiting! My good friend Renee Knowles and I are in charge of the PAL (published authors loop) Tea and the Author Booksigning event, so we'll be running our little tails off. Friday evening, I hope to sit down with the Vixens and get the lowdown on RT. (For Monica's musings on RT, click here. You won't be disappointed, LOL.) Saturday I'll attend workshops and pitch to a few editors. Wish me luck!

See you all next week. A little Niko to keep you warm...

HUMP-DAY HUNK -- Jimmy Thomas

Current read: Tripping Through Time by Mary M. Ricksen
I found a real live cover model for you, ladies! This sweet man friended me on MySpace a few months ago and asked if I'd be at RT this year. Yeah, I know -- he no doubt friended numerous romance authors for publicity, but let me have my fantasies ;). Unfortunately, I wasn't at RT, but my fellow Vixens Monica and Tricia were. Did you meet Jimmy, girls? He's thirty-two and (no surprise here) is a personal trainer and model. From all accounts, he's a very nice person.

MONDAY'S HERO -- Carter from Cadence Interrupted

Current read: Tripping Through Time by Mary M. Ricksen

Here we are at the last Monday in April already. Hard to believe. Today I'm welcoming another friend I met through the Mama Writers loop, Laura Garland. Laura brings something new -- she writes with her husband under the name L.J. Garland. I'm anxious to find out more about that! Today she's talking about their latest Cerridwen Press release, Cadence interrupted. Laura, welcome! Tell us about L.J. Garland.

First, Helen, I want to thank you for taking the time to interview me on your blog. I’m very excited to be here.

My husband and I write together under the author name, L.J. Garland. The L is for Laura and the J is for Jeff. So how do we keep from killing each other or divorcing? We come up with the story ideas together, flesh them out, talk about characters, etc. then I get to writing. Jeff reads behind me, catching inconsistencies, typos, etc. He really helps out with the male side of the dialog not to mention the internal thoughts when it’s the hero’s POV! LOL.

So far we’ve e-pubbed two books with Cerridwen Press. One futuristic and one romantic suspense. We like several different genres: futuristic, time travel, paranormal, and suspense. We also like to put romance in all of our stories. We’ve also got about ten more stories lined out to write…it’s just a matter of getting to them!

We have three wonderful little boys, 9 months, 3 years and 5 years. They really keep us hopping! Plus we started home schooling our oldest this year. Overall, I think it’s brought us closer together as a family.

I think it's wonderful that you and your husband work together so well, and I know he must provide invaluable insight to the male point of view. Let's get to Cadence Interrupted. How did the book begin?

Honestly, it started out as a story for Silhouette. They asked for a full but in the end decided against it. They had a low word count, so we went back through and beefed up the scenes (especially the sex) and found a home at Cerridwen.

An article on the Internet is the kernel for this story. It was about the poaching that continues today in South Africa. Most people are so surprised to hear that it’s still going on…but it is. A Ranger told a story about how a poacher ran into a village. He chased the guy there and wasn’t surprised when the people of the village protected him. The animals are protected so even though they tear village crops up, the villagers can’t kill them. So, they call the poachers to take care of it for them and offer their protection.

BLURB:
When CC discovers her best friend has been kidnapped, she vows rescue no matter the cost. Several clues and a threatening call from the kidnapper lead her to hop a plane to South Africa in search of her friend and the man who took her.

In a strange twist of fate, she arrives in Africa and soon finds herself flying helicopter gunships over the savannah, gunning down poachers. Not one to turn down free transportation, she uses her free time following clues that lead her closer to her friend’s location. Her gunner, Carter, an ex-DEA agent with an instinct for discovering secrets, tracks her every move—both in the air and in bed.

CC must maintain the delicate balance between her friend’s life, the kidnapper’s demands and Carter’s suspicious questions. Time is running out and each clue leads her further across South Africa in a hail of gunfire and missiles. Only her determination and skills as a pilot can save her friend and bring the kidnapper to justice without losing Carter’s love.

Wow, sounds very intense! I love a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Your hero, Carter, sounds fascinating. I love a hero who questions everything. Tell us more.

Carter Westcott is 30 years old, 6’ 0”, muscular, close-cropped chestnut brown hair. He has piercing ice-blue eyes, a strong jaw line and a sexy boyish grin (of course!) He carries himself with a commanding air of self-confidence, looks dashing in dress uniform or tux, but prefers fatigues or shorts and t-shirt.

He was a cop most of his life until his partner was killed in the line of duty. It really shook him. Then his wife left him because of the job, so he decided he needed a change of pace. He took leave and went to South Africa and ended up staying. He works out of a small airfield set up to fight against poachers. He's intelligent, easy-going, dedicated, and protective.

You had me at "dashing in dress uniform." Who doesn't love a man in uniform? What appeals to him about CC?

She’s hot. Isn’t that why most guys go after a woman? LOL But after that, he’s impressed with her tenacious attitude. She’s independent and strong. One way or another, with or without him, she’s going to rescue her best friend. His cop nature can really relate to and appreciate that.

How about CC -- how does she feel about Carter?

Right off the bat, Carter pisses CC off. He completely insults her. He treats her as though she’s this weak little thing who can barely put one high heel in front of the other. But after she has her revenge, she’s forced to work with him and discovers there’s a lot more to him than she thought. Plus, he has this animal magnetism that she’s never experienced before and can’t seem to stay away from.

Ah, the curse of the romance hero -- animal magnetism ;). Did anyone special inspire Carter?

A lot of writers I know use photos to capture their hero. I got on the Internet and happened across a young George Clooney. Oh, yeah…that did it. Animal magnetism...

Not too many can argue with George ;). What are you two working on these days?

Right now we’re working on two projects. One is a dark paranormal set in Savannah, Georgia. The heroine gets symbolic visions of when someone’s life is about to change (and we’re talking either winning the lottery or getting hit by a truck kind of life change). The hero is a detective who is investigating murders and, when the heroine knows too much, he immediately suspects her.

The other WIP is a futuristic set on a medieval world. It’s a mix between spaceships, witchcraft and good old Earthling know-how. The hero and heroine are kidnapped from Earth and are dropped on a planet where they have to find an ancient alien relic as their ticket to get home. There’s a sexy obsessive witch who wants the hero for herself and an alien assassin sent from the stars to kill them both.

As far as other releases, we have On the Fringes, a futuristic story with a heavy romantic element. It is not heavy science fiction by any extremes, but the story has three distinct threads that weave together into one.

If you want to read some blurbs and excerpts, you can go to www.lj-garland.com

It has links to where to buy Cadence Interrupted or On the Fringes and also tells about our WIPs—a few of which have rough excerpts as well.

What great imaginations you both have! Would you mind sharing something surprising about yourself?

The thing about Jeff and me that probably surprises people the most is that we both are helicopter pilots. On our tenth wedding anniversary we took five days and flew from Georgia to California in a two-seat Robinson R-22 helicopter (it’s about two-thirds the size of a VW Bug). It was 700 feet above the ground coast to coast. What an adventure that was!

How interesting! I've never been on a helicopter. Thanks so much for being here today, Laura. Readers, here's a taste of Cadence Interrupted:

“You wanted to say something?” She remained standing. Planting her feet shoulder-width apart and hands on hips, she prepared for another round of recriminations. She met his gaze head-on. She had taken care of the situation and had done it well. She’d saved lives. End of story.

“First, Jabri is going to be fine.” His face appeared grim as he spoke. “I just thought you might want to know.”

“Thank you.” As she waited for him to continue, she noticed his snug jeans and heather gray t-shirt displayed his physique very well. Butterflies tingled low in her stomach as her eyes roamed over his tanned, nicely shaped arms and chest. When she finally met his eyes again, she noticed the corners of his mouth twitching ever so slightly. She flushed and said tightly, “Second?”

“Second,” he said as he stepped toward her, “since it looks like we’ll be working together, I suppose introductions are in order. I’m Carter Westcott.” He held out his hand.

“CC.” She took his hand in a quick handshake, then let go. “But you knew that already.” He was close enough that she could smell him. It was clean and earthy, just like after a summer rain. Very male, very alluring. “Anything else?”

“Well, since you asked, I was just curious. Was that your boyfriend on the phone?” He remained where he stood, his scent swirling around her. The tingling in her stomach intensified and moved lower.

She wasn’t attracted to him. She couldn’t be. He was a jerk, full of himself. Besides, she had a date with a gorgeous guy this Friday. A guy who spoke to her with respect, who valued her for who she was.

“That’s none of your business.” CC brushed past him, went to the door and opened it. “I think we’re done here.”

Carter joined her at the door. “I didn’t mean to offend you,” he said. “Have you eaten?”

She stood there at the door, inhaling him and feeling the flutters of tiny butterflies running up and down her thighs. She brought her gaze to his, intending to stand her ground. But when their eyes met, they locked.

Click.

When had she lost control of the situation? She’d had it just a moment ago.

“Let me buy you dinner.” He moved closer, reached up and brushed her cheek with the back of his hand. The warmth sent a shockwave of tingles low in her belly.

She wasn’t attracted to him, her mind protested. It didn’t matter how his touch set her skin on fire. Or how his unsettling gaze made her knees shake. She was not attracted to him.

Carter slid his hand behind her head. Slowly, he leaned down, his lips hovering a breath away from hers. He glanced down at her mouth and swallowed. When his eyes returned to hers, their intensity engulfed her. Yet he hesitated, as though waiting for permission to cross the invisible line between them.

She should say something. Do something.

“Um.”

Carter’s lips grazed over hers, featherlight, searing. CC’s breath caught and her skyrocketing heartbeat made the room spin. Her eyes fluttered closed. What had just happened?

Gently, their lips brushed over one another, a breath against silk. Then he settled his mouth on hers, his lips pressing more firmly, caressing, searching. Heat seeped into her, liquid fire. When his tongue demanded entrance, CC joined him willingly. Their mouths danced with a passion that both surprised and captivated her. Carter was certainly the last man she’d expected to cause her body to tingle in the places it tingled.

He dragged his teeth over her bottom lip, tugging it, and all too soon broke the kiss.

“I…” No more words came to mind. The fire he’d poured into her scorched her senses, demanding more. CC leaned into him, following his retreat as though the kiss had somehow created a magnetic link. She still tasted him, felt the pressure and heat of his mouth. Her hand tightened on the doorknob, threatening to shear it off.

Carter pressed his forehead to hers. His breath came hot and fast as though he’d run a marathon. Her own chest rose and fell as she gulped air and worked to keep her balance.

His free hand came up next to CC’s head and pushed the door closed, sealing out the rest of the world, while his other hand slid from the back of her neck and rested beneath her chin. Carter brushed his thumb over her wet and swollen bottom lip, his eyes dark with desire. Would he kiss her again? Her nipples tightened beneath her thin t-shirt at the thought.

HUMP-DAY HUNK -- Matthew "Jett" Schaefer

Current read: Between the Lines by Kathy Otten

Born in Pennsylvania in 1972, Jett, a real-life pilot and flight instructor, was discovered in 1996 by Gianni Versace while vacationing in South Beach. Those were some of the best abs in the business, ladies. Unfortunately, Jett's story is a sad one. In January of this year, he passed away due to complications arising from a sinus infection. He had been undergoing cancer treatment and his immune system was compromised. May he rest in peace.

CONTEST WINNER...
...AND SOME INSPIRATION

Current read: Between the Lines by Kathy Otten

Hi everyone -- today I'm pleased to announce the winner of my Passion in Paris contest. Congratulations to Kammie! Kammie, I'll be in touch with you via email to get your prize to you. Thanks to all who entered!

We can all use some inspiration now and then. And no, I'm not talking about hunks, LOL. If you haven't seen the Susan Boyle YouTube video yet, it's worth a look. I first encountered it when Christina posted it on her blog. Extremely moving. I read a wonderful post today about tenacity and the drive to succeed, even in the face of narrow odds. It's over at Murderati, and it's definitely worth a read. The author, Toni McGee Causey, includes the link to the Boyle video. I guarantee you'll be inspired afterward. Check it out here.

Come back tomorrow for my weekly hunk. And since I can't leave you without my favorite kind of inspiration...

MONDAY'S HERO -- Rowan from Litha Dreams

Current read: Game On by Liza James

The sun is out today! We've been drowning in rain and slushy snow for a few days here in Colorado, so sunshine is a welcome sight. My good friend and fellow Vixen Tricia Leigh Wood is already in Orlando for the RT conference, and Monica flies out on Tuesday. I really wish I were joining them, but the timing didn't work out for me this year.

On to Monday's Hero. Today I'm happy to have Rachel Moniz who I met on Catherine's blog. Rachel's book, Litha Dreams, is available at DCL Publications. Welcome, Rachel! Tell us a little about yourself.

I'm a lifelong Rhode Island resident, an only child and a self-described eccentric. I am constantly amazed at the ironies and absurdity that occur in life. I am a true Gemini in that freedom, movement and communication are important to me. After years of working in the corporate world, I decided that life was going by too quickly to be miserable doing something I couldn't stand. I started writing articles for a small local newspaper and then decided to pull out my romance story drafts. Writing has been a great journey so far! My other passions are reading, hiking, Disney World and people watching. I also admit to being a little bit addicted to Facebook and texting on my Sidekick (that whole Gemini communication thing again! LOL)

I hear you on the whole corporate world thing. I'm glad you're realizing your dream of writing. Tell us about Litha Dreams.

The idea for Litha Dreams came about after reading a book on dream symbolism. The section on meeting our astral 'mate' really stuck with me. I imagined two people meeting first on the astral plane and then in real life. When DCL Publications had a submission call for Summer Solstice stories, I knew I had a great story to place in the context of a Solstice celebration atmosphere.

Blurb:
The rebellious Lady Morgan Mackenzie has been feeling pushed into finding a husband that her mother deems suitable. Morgan, however, has other ideas about the man she should choose. Laird Rowan Buchanan is without a wife and his Uncle James will not tolerate the Buchanans not having a strong heir. A common dream, a colorful gypsy and a concerned cousin all unite to bring these two soul mates together and make their Summer Solstice a very memorable night.

Dream symbolism is fascinating. How great that it inspired you. Let's get to your hero, Rowan. What makes him tick?

Laird Rowan Buchanan is a man who appreciates his life, respects nature, and seeks peace around him. He is a man's man, firm in his beliefs, and I did imagine him as being born under the sign of Leo. He is warm and caring, but knows how to handle difficult people. He is determined, irreverent, and conscientious. Rowan is dark-haired, dark-eyed and wide-shouldered, the epitome of a dark Celt and a true Scotsman.

I'm intrigued by your choices of adjectives for Rowan ;). How does he relate to the heroine, Morgan? What brings them together?

At first, it is their common dream, but then, as they get to know each other, it is their kindred, irreverent spirits that seal the deal. Rowan gives Morgan space to be herself.

Was Rowan inspired by anyone in your life?

Rowan is a combination of the best parts of the personalities of all of the men I know.

I like that answer! Give us a visual. Are there any celebrities who capture Rowan's look?

Andrei Claude is the cover model on my book and he certainly captures Rowan's look. I loved the work that Annie Marshall at DCL Publications did on the cover. Orlando Bloom's performance as Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy brings together the coloring and a dollop of Rowan's personality as well.

What's next for you?

Thus far, Litha Dreams is my only release with DCL.I am currently in my editing mode on its sequel , which I have called Yuletide Brides. I love working with the quirky Mackenzies and have enjoyed every moment of writing!

I'm in the early stages of a Valentine novella about a career woman who falls in love with a male friend after he has a gifrlfriend. It's quite a funny story so far.

I'm on a few spots on the Internet. Readers are always welcome to friend me on MySpace at
www.myspace.com/tinkiepotter or on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/people/Rachel-E-Moniz/1488044268. I have a blog at http://rachelemoniz.blogspot.com also. Regular emails can be sent to REMonizOL@aol.com.

And my fun question -- would you share something surprising about yourself?

Hmmm... many moons ago, I had planned to join the Marine Corps. The military was going to be my career.

Thank you for sharing your hero with us, Rachel! And here's an excerpt:

"Laird Rowan Buchanan of Culloch," he said aloud to himself. "Such a grand title for a man, ye old dog." He opened his eyes. It was almost dawn. He peered at the threshold where Eliphas, his wolf, was laying. The big beast had barely raised its head when he settled back down deciding that it was too early to be up. He looked at Rowan with tired amber eyes and then slowly closed them.

Rowan stayed absolutely still under his covers. The pale pink streaks across the sky told him it was time to start his day, but he was loathe to remove himself from the bed. He was feeling rather introspective this morning.

"Thirty-two and unmarried!" cried his mind over and over. The talking-to he had gotten from his Uncle James rang in his ears. He was feeling a measure of guilt at not finding a wife, but there was also dismay thrown into the mix. Most of the lasses he met were all opportunists and money grubbers. How in hell was he going to find a worthy girl in 1592?

Finally, Rowan quit the bed, naked as the day he was born, and went over to the window. His hazel eyes took in the lands around Culloch Castle and if he leaned out, he could see the whole of the clan holdings. Aye, the ancient Buchanans had built this stronghold and he was the heir of it all.

Rowan went over to his dressing table and splashed cold water over his face and then stared hard at the man in the reflection of the mirror over his washbowl. Strong jaw and brow lines, a stubborn cleft chin and intense gaze looked back at him. Dark hair, with two or three silver strands creeping into the mix, completed the Celtic look of him. "Ye’re a handsome devil," he laughed to himself, "Now where is yer other half?"

Is that a beautiful man? There's just no other way to say it. I posted a preview of Ignacio yesterday and hopefully left you all hungry for more. This actor/model was born in 1980 in Buenos Aires, but is of Italian descent on both sides. What is he looking for in a woman? He says, "I love sweetness and kindness in a woman...a woman that knows what she wants..." Any takers?

MONDAY'S HERO -- Blaise from Passion In Paris

Current read: A Stranger's Bed by Sophia Rae

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend. I want to thank each and every one of you. Passion in Paris is already on the bestseller list at The Wilder Roses. That couldn't have happened without your support. I'm truly grateful.

I'd like to introduce my own hero today -- Blaise from Passion in Paris. If you've been following my mini blog tour, you already know a little bit about him.

When I completed Seduced in Seoul, I wanted to write another Destination Pleasure story. I've visited Paris, and it's a wonderful city that I knew would make a perfect setting for a romance. When a good friend introduced me to some photos (and, ahem, other media) of a sexy Frenchman, Emmanuel Delcour, I knew I'd found the model for Blaise.

Attempting to overcome her fear of heights by visiting the top of the Eiffel Tower, Raine never expects to end up in the arms of a gorgeous Frenchman. But after fainting in the tower’s elevator, that’s where she awakens. Blaise is young, charming, and hot, so why, Raine wonders, is he attracted to her? And why does she have the strange feeling she’s seen him somewhere before?

When Blaise rescues Raine from the Eiffel Tower, he's instantly attracted to her, but he's not sure why. What he doesn't know, though, the reader will figure out. He sees in Raine a little bit of himself -- her insecurity about heights reminds him of his own insecurities. Anymore would give away the story, but suffice it to say they both have issues to work through, and they help each other.

I hope you all enjoy the story of Raine and Blaise as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Don't forget to enter my contest. Email me at helenhardt@gmail.com and tell me Raine’s real name. You can find it hidden here on my blog. Don’t post it in a comment and give it away! The contest will close at midnight EST next Friday, April 17. I’ll draw a name, and the winner will receive a Barnes and Noble gift card. And I’ll throw in something extra special if you can tell me why she doesn’t use her real name. For that one, you’ll have to read the story ;).

Please visit me today over at the Mama Writers blog, where I'm talking about fears and phobias. I know we all have those ;). Tomorrow, I'm visiting my good friend Cari Quinn, and on Friday, I'll be blogging with the talented Christina Phillips.

Have a wonderful day!

HUMP-DAY HUNK -- Trevor Donovan

Current read: Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas

I had a taste for a blond today (sorry, Monica!) Meet Trevor Donovan, an American model and actor. He's thirty years old and stands 6' 2". You may remember him from Paradise Lost or Days of our Lives. When he's not acting or modeling, his favorite things to do are working out, swimming, and watching a good movie with friends. And hanging out with aliens, apparently. Anybody want to switch places?

NEWS NEWS NEWS

Current read: Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas

Hey, everyone! Yes, I do have news. Can you tell by the headline? LOL. Ellora's Cave has picked up my short story Slow and Wet! It will be published in November as part of their "Wet" theme. I'm very excited to be part of Ellora's Cave. Some of my favorite authors write there, and other favorites started there and made the leap to New York.

And of course my other big news is -- Passion in Paris is coming on Friday! I have a little blog tour scheduled, so please visit me. Here's the calendar of events:

Friday, April 10, I'll be blogging with Kaye Manro and The Pink Fuzzy Slipper Writers.

Monday, April 13, my hero, Blaise, will make an appearance here at Helen's Heroes, and I'll be at Mama Writers.

Tuesday, April 14, I'll be visiting my good friend and critique partner, Cari Quinn.

Friday, April 17, I'll be blogging with the lovely Christina Phillips.

It's the first Tuesday in April, so onto my goals for the month. Last month was crazy, but I did get my taxes done, so that's something. I also hit every other goal I set except for 15K on my new novella. So that's the priority this month. I joined Anne Marie Novark's April Madness BIAM group to help motivate me. (And hi to my CPs Monica and Cari who also joined!) Basically my goal for this month is simple. Try for 2K per day (weekdays) with the goal of 40K for the month. That will complete my novella and start something new. What? I have no idea ;). But something will come to me...I hope.

What are your goals for this month? I'd love to hear them. In the meantime, if you need a little inspiration, look no further. Tell me -- what do you imagine his face looks like?

MONDAY'S HERO -- Cloud Feather from Native Dreams

Current read: Tell No One by Harlan Coben

Here we are at the first Monday in April already. Is it just me, or is 2009 speeding by?

Today I'm pleased to introduce Native American Romance Author Melinda Elmore. As with several of my other guests, I met Melinda on the Mama Writers loop. If you're a mother and writer, it's an awesome place to make connections. Melinda's debut book, Native Dreams, is available at Publish America.

Melinda, welcome! Tell us about Native Dreams.

The plot was really simple. My love for the Native American people and how they are one with Mother Earth brought me to write about them.

My editor at the Navajo/Hopi Observer in Flagstaff, Arizona says, “This book shows that true love knows no physical or spiritual bounds and that destiny will always prevail.”

Precious Hawk is viciously taken from her people and forced to live in the white world, causing inner turmoil. Many years later, Cloud Feather, a perfect stranger, arrives to work on her husband’s ranch. Experience the “awe” when Cloud Feather rescues his beloved Precious Hawk, who has come to him in many of his dreams. His heart is to return Precious Hawk to her ancestral lands where she rightly belongs. On the run, the daring couple nearly lose their lives. Cloud Feather is gravely wounded. He is taken to his village in hope that Red Wing, their medicine man, can save his life. All the while, Precious Hawk is with child, Cloud Feather’s child. But Precious Hawk knows the evilness of John Altan. Will he ever leave her alone? No, not until he is dead. The Great Spirit joins their love, faith keeps their minds hopeful, and their spiritual guides deliver guidance.

Your hero, Cloud Feather, sounds amazing. Tell us about him.

Cloud Feather is simply remarkable. He is for doing what is right. To protect what he loves and holds dear to his heart. He loves the land and his people. He is tall, slender. Very muscled with black shoulder length hair. He wants to be a father and teach his children the ways of his people. He is brave, loving, strong.

What draws him to Precious Hawk?

Her strength to withstand all the hurtful things in life and still be strong. The connection is love at first sight.

How is Precious Hawk drawn to Cloud Feather?

His willingness to fight, a strong bond that only true love has.

What inspired you to create Cloud Feather?

My husband inspired me for he is always understanding and I was also inspired by the Native American Culture and people.

Is there a little bit of someone you know in him?

To a certain degree my husband is. Then he also represents the brave Native American people.

Are there any celebrities who capture his look?

Steve Reevis, who starred in my favorite movie, Last of the Dogmen.

Tell us something about yourself that might surprise people:

Well there is nothing really except I love Native American people and their way of life. If I could go back in live in the 1800s, I would choose to live with the Native People.

What projects are you working on right now?

I am working on the sequel to Native Dreams. I am also working on a poetry book. This is my first book but I do have some poems published on “Autumn Leaves” and I also have articles published Readers can check out my website: http://www.melindaelmore.webs.com.

Thank you so much for being here, Melinda.

Thank you for your interest in my writing.

Stephanie, you'll be receiving a copy of Seduced in Seoul via email. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks to everyone who entered. We had a great response to this contest.

Passion in Paris is coming next Friday! I hope you'll all check it out. This is another erotic short story in the Destination Pleasure series at The Wild Rose Press, Wilder Roses, and it's a scorcher!

Be sure to stop by on Monday. Author Melinda Elmore will be talking about the hero in her Native American romance, Native Dreams. Until then, have a great weekend!
